Full-Time AEMT/Training Director Opening Announcement
Cross Plains Area EMS is accepting applications for the position of full-time Advanced EMT/Training Director. We are looking for a dedicated, self-motivated professional with experience running 911 calls, training or teaching, record management, and reporting. This key role involves providing high quality emergency medical care, leading department training initiatives, and coordinating our Community CPR program. Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with dedicated volunteers. Advanced EMT’s will function in all capacities on the ambulance including AEMT, EMT, Driver and Mentor.
TRAINING DIRECTOR: Ability to take the State of Wisconsin AEMT/EMT/EMR continuing education along with NREMT renewal expectations and create a yearly training program for members. Setting up monthly training, skills check and making sure each member is up to date on their skills. Ability to assist with new employee orientation, compliance tracking, and public education.
SUMMARY of DUTIES:
▪ Provide emergency medical care as an AEMT on rotating 24/48 shift schedule
▪ Develop, implement, and oversee training programs for EMS personnel
▪ Coordinate and manage the community CPR training program
▪ Maintain training records and compliance with state licensing requirements
▪ Perform all aspects of EMS care at emergency scenes
▪ teaching and training with crews, complete patient care reports, assist with Public Education
▪ routine maintenance of equipment, facilities, and apparatus maintenance
▪ miscellaneous duties regarding the operation of Cross Plains EMS.
WORK SCHEDULE: 24/48 rotating shifts. Overtime may be assigned as needed/required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary for the open position is 50,000.00 – 52,000.00 depending on experience with potential for overtime. Benefits include Wisconsin State Retirement, vacation and sick leave, health and dental insurance, life insurance, income continuation, paid holidays, and uniform allowance.
Minimum Qualifications:
▪ Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
▪ US citizenship/Permanent Resident Card
▪ Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with proof of insurability
▪ Ability to pass a criminal and caregiver background check
▪ Licensed as an AEMT through the State of Wisconsin
▪ CEVO certification or able to obtain as a condition of hire
▪ AHA BLS CPR instructor certification or ability to obtain as a condition of hire
▪ NIMS 100,200,700, and WMD certifications
▪ Experience in teaching or training
Preferred qualifications
Self-driven organizational and time management skills
Desire to coach and mentor
At least one year of experience
Physical Demands
▪ Lifting objects weighing 50 pounds or more
▪ Engage in strenuous exertion while performing tasks under emergency conditions
▪ Deal with exposure to death, emotional stress, and patients with contagious diseases
▪ Withstand exposure to physical hazards from weather extremes, equipment, traffic, crime, etc.
▪ There will be a minimum of 1 year of probation
