The Cross Plains EMT Association was started back in 1977 by a small group of local citizens with the goal of raising funds in the community to support the local emergency medical service.  This group formed an association and applied for and received a 501 (c)(3) tax donation status from the IRS to allow donations to be tax deductible.  In 2025 the Associaton has turned into the Cross Plains EMT  Corporation.
